콤플렉스는 다가오는 9월 2일부터 29일까지 고용국의 개인전 Nap Ⅱ를 개최한다. 이 전시는 작가의 2025년 개인전 Nap (Kunsthaus Neureut, 칼스루에)의 연장선으로, 전시에서 작가는 중고 인형을 수집하여 만든 입체 작업 시리즈 <꽃>을 중점적으로 선보인다. 이 시리즈는 고독사한 망자와, 후에 이 작품들을 발견하게 될 미래의 누군가를 향해 보내는 편지이자 애도를 위한 토템으로 작동한다. 일상에 대한 관찰과 작가 개인의 기억 그리고 상상이 덧붙여진 이 작업은 재료를 수집하고 작품을 만드는 과정 중, 상당 부분 즉흥에 기대어 탄생된다. 버려지거나 방치된 물건과 소품으로 새로이 뼈대를 세우고 조형성을 부여하며 작가는 생명의 유한성, 그 아름다움과 찰나에 대해 고찰한다.

Yongkuk Ko's Nap II extends from his 2025 solo exhibition Nap at Kunsthaus Neureut in Karlsruhe. In this exhibition, the artist primarily presents , a series of sculptural works assembled from collected secondhand dolls. The series functions both as a letter addressed to those who died in social isolation and to an unknown person who may one day discover these works, and as a totem of mourning. Rooted in observations of everyday life and interwoven with the artist's personal memories and imagination, the works emerge through a process that relies heavily on improvisation as materials are gathered and assembled. By constructing new frameworks from discarded and neglected objects and imbuing them with sculptural presence, Ko reflects on the finitude of life, as well as its beauty and fleetingness.
